Any of you guys/gals play airsoft? I got a few fields around me that are really regular but i still haven't been to them. I played with my friends and family nearby and i had a HUGE amount of fun.

I don't have any markers yet but i plan on picking one up soon. I am visiting airsoft atlanta this tues. I am planning on taking a closer look on some echo1 gear. I have heard good things about them(and some bad). What do you guys think of them? What brands do you guys reccomend?

I am just starting to learn about all this airsoft stuff but i have a thirst for information!

i love airsoft-not so sure about the gear to wear, but if you go to evike.com, they're the largest airsoft wherehouse, and walk in store in the U.S. I'm in CA and so are they so if something ships ground, I get it within 2 days. they have custom airsoft guns, and they can do custom work

i have a JG(Jing Jong) Ak-47 fully automatic-yes, it's made in china, but it's one heck of a gun..with .20 gram bb's its going around 420 FPS-it'll run you about 200. also, if you're looking for an automatic, then you're going to want to upgrade the battery and get the quick charger-if you can't find what battery to upgrade to or the quick charger, just call them and they'll help you out-they have EVERYTHING airsoft, and they have THE best prices I've seen and THE biggest selection

hope this helps

I used to be part of a team. I was the designated marksman :D

JG stuff won't have as great of a warranty if it breaks. (and they do if you get a lemon) It's up to the dealer to give you a warranty.

Echo 1 is generally better in quality. And great for starters, as they are easy to upgrade.

Airsoft Atlanta is a very good shop. No complaints from there. I suggest you become a member of Airsoftretreat--it's like a bladeforums for airsoft.

You'll find, however, that nobody likes Evike's CS, as they have none. It's like "thebladeshop" for airsofters.

Online purchases? Airsoft GI is among the best, along with airsplat.

Classic Army. Very realistic, metal bodies. FPS is very decent. DO NOT buy an echo, higher stock fps is not a good reason, half the time, clones are lemons.

I have a metal body m4. Very fun, though my time and money goes more into knives now.

Airsoftgi.com has great service.

I used to plink with a KWA G-17 GBB pistol. It was a fun toy, and seemed to hold up pretty well. The first mag I bought for it was a lemon though.

Well i went down there yesterday and looked at their rifles. I noticed that the wall of echo 1, most of them had something wrong with them. Most had a charging handle broken, barrel was moving around, mysterious rattles and that sort of thing. Of course the higher end stuff that was kept in a better looking case was in perfect condition. I can't say for certain but i think that the store tries to give a customer a bad version of a cheaper rifle in order for them to try and sell the Classic Army stuff.

Overall though, the fit and finish of Echo 1 suprised me. For the most part the guns seemed to be well made with good materials and a hefty weight with only a few dissapointments with ejector covers and such but those aren't needed for a rifle anyway.

Classic army guns(specifically the m4 and the ak versions) looked great, which was expected at that price tag. I would love to pick one up but i don't know if i can justify spending the extra money.

I am looking for a gun where i can have the initial investment and i don't have to put money into playing for quite a while. I would rather have great quality than fps. I was really leaning twards an echo 1 but having handled a few, i wonder if i should just wait and try to upgrade to the next one.

I do know that i won't be buying online. Too many of these rifles have major problems and buying one from an unseen retailer just doesn't fly with me. I want a store with faces that i can go yell at and maybe get some help if i need it.

So now i am thinking of buying an echow1 m4a1 varient and later on buying a broken classic army on the cheap so i can exchange internals and whatnot that is keeping it from firing. What do you guys say???

Me and my friends used to play regularly. Just for our safety, we would wear those paintball face masks. Those little 6mm bb's get everywhere and we didn't want to lose an eye :D

I was also the marksman, I always bought stuff from Swiss Arms. I have a 20 shot .20 grain pistol that is modeled after a Sig Saur as my side arm and my Swiss Arms Black Eagle M6 as my main rifle. All metal barrel and bolt action. Mine came with two 20 shot clips that fit underneath the rifle. It has rails to attach a scope or laser/light. I just keep it plain and I love it.

I believe it shoots somewhere around 400 FPS.

Before I got hooked on the M6, I had an MP5 lookalike that was either semi-auto or full auto. The ammo for that got expensive so I stuck with my single shot M6 rifle :o

wow, never thought I hear evikes.com mentioned in real life. went to school with that guy, and we'll leave it at that.

I've never done business with Evikes.com so I can't really comment on the business practice. I'd hate to give you the wrong idea one way or another based purely on pre-evikes.com interactions.

I personally haven't done any business with evikes , but i have been reading all i can on airsoft and what people think and a majority of them say to stay away from evikes.com.

Still i would hate to send people away from a business i haven't dealt with, but i wouldn't want to get burned just to say the fire is hot either.
