Aitor Handle Construction

In response to my previous thread asking for opinions of the stainless steel used for Aitor knife blades, I got quite a few replies and have concluded that it is probably equivalent to 440C.
Now I have another question: does anyone have an opinion on the construction quality of the guard and handle of Aitor military knives?I lack the expertise to tell by looking, and don't want to try punishing tests which could seriously damage the knives.

The guard on my knives are quite wide and "S" shaped - a feature I like. However, there is a finish applied over the guards and I cannot tell what is underneath. Likewise, I cannot see the tang inside the plastic scales so I don't know how strong it is.

I have read negative comments on the construction of the handles on the Aitor Jungle King survival knives, but I do not own that type. Mine are the military style bowies and one bolo, similar to the Aitor Spanish army issue knife. I had bought those knives assuming that if they were rugged enough for the Spanish Army, they should be OK.
