Does anybody have this knife? It does not seem like you can choke up and do fine carvings. What is the RC hardness?

Today my AK 47 Fieldknife finally arrived. I'm really impressed, nice fit and finish. The knife feels sturdy as hell without being as chunky as many other "hard use " knives. The handle provides a secure grip. Love this knife

Had one, sold it. Was almost perfect for me but the finger grooves in the handle didn't fit my hand properly.

Great size, great steel, very sharp, nice sheath, reasonable price. Was a real bummer for me as I had very high hopes for this one to take a big place in my rotation.

After having used the knife for some hours I can confirm the handle "problem ". My hands are a bit small for the finger grooves. In fact, I can tightly place all four fingers in the "large front fingergroove" while the pinky groove remains empty. That is nice for choking up on the blade but not the intended grip for that handle I think. If I place the pinky in the pinky groove there is a gap between my index finger and the guard. For people with larger hands it seems to fit just fine. As I'm in my thirties I doubt my hands will still grow ;-). I hope they will release a similar knife with a less "fingergrooved" handle which would also allow a larger variety of grips (for chest lever cuts e.g.)without feeling awkward. The blade itself is close to perfection.. with another handle it would be perfect (for me)

^^^ Is exactly what is was trying to say. I strongly considered modifying the finger grooves on my 1"x42" Kalamazoo. Wouldn't be much work to accomplish...

I am in the same boat with my hands not growing anymore at 42 LOL

I wear a medium-size glove and it fits me just right.

I hope that they bring out more fixed blades with it too.

+1 to that. Same goes for the AK-47 folder. The "raised" part at the rear end of the handle should not be there. My pinky finger happens to rest on peak, so i either have to squeeze all 4 fingers before the groove or expand my grip for the pinky groove, both uncomfortable. It was the single reason why i dont carry it.
The grip is secure without that groove so i dont know what's the reason for it, it's not like the real AK bayonet has it too if CS is going for aesthetic.
You may wrap the index and middle finger around it for chopping, but TBH i dont see why anyone would do that if you dont want your knife flying off, especially for folder. A lanyard may work better.

Gave it another try and did some outdoor /camping stuff. I have to say that having small hands and being able to place all four fingers in the front groove gives you great controll when making feathersticks. I can easily reach over the jimping with my thumb and apply pressure to the spine. When I grab it the intended way it feels like my hand is a bit far at the end of the handle and the heel of hand rests half on the angled rear part of the handle. I think I'll get used to it.

Took some pics to show you what I mean. Didn't have the Fieldknife to hand so I took the AK 47 folder but as it's the same handle design the pics will work

First pic: all four fingers in the front groove, pinky groove remains empty ;gives you great controll

Second pic: grabbing it the intended way, I feel my hand is a bit far on the end of the handle, and there's a gap between my index finger and the guard

Here are some pics of the beautiful AK47 Fieldknife.
I think CS oiled it a bit too much. Took of the grease when I received it but everytime I put it back into the sheath it comes out covered in grease.

The more I use the knife, the more I love it.
The knife has a good size for a utility/survival knife, the 3v steel is really awesome and the full tang construction feels bombproof.

By the way, when I wear gloves the handle fits even my thin hands almost perfectly.
