I want to thank this forum for turning me on to Busse knives and dragging me into your private hell. I have purchased much more than I need, but I really like having a blade for all occasions. Thank you Mr. Busse, Garth, Amy and crew.
I depart Colombia in two weeks and will be in Afghanistan in a few months. I fully intend to take an AK and Ruck Kensei with me, in addition to the Hell Razor that is on my kit. In years of law enforcement special operations I have had extensive experience in being caught by angry mobs overseas. They see diplomatic tags or a gringo and often attack the vehicle or sometimes try worse. Pointing an M-4 or a Glock at them often does not deter them because they realize that you will likely not shoot them. Opening an ASP baton normally works much better, because they have little doubt that you will break an arm or kneecap if pushed. Now what I think would terrify the sh!t out of them would be the guy who has the M-4, but draws the sword to emphasize "If you try and hurt me, I am going to start by cutting into the crowd before I have to start changing magazines".
Although I would never hump the AK into the mountains, it will likely be with me whenever im on mounted movement. It is a tool that I have come to appreciate. Don't be left out and check the company store one day to find them all gone. How many years will pass before Mr. Busse decides to make more?
