I have an AK-47 in AUS-8.....What are the differences besides the steel in the new versions? Is the grip texture still aggressive or did they do a change like with the new American Lawmans?

Thanks

Super aggressive and the pocket clips are tight. I have one in od green and I am trying to figure out how to remedy this. Other than that, I like it very much!

Thanks....Then I will not upgrade. No reason just for the steel. I was hoping that they made the handle less aggressive like the new AL.

Still aggressive, still a heavy knife, but you forgot about the new DLC coating
It's really really tough!

The XHP steel is a significant upgrade over AUS8, the DLC coating is superb. The nice thing about the scales is you can sand them down to just what you want. I really like the new version. Also, it's available with green and tan scales.

I lift bags of salt & transmissions,.. but I drop envelopes. The aggressive texture saves me injuries daily!

I have never had an issue with the texture found on other brands that CS is using on the new American Lawman.

So many people modify, sand their CS scales, even Spyderco puts a flat area under the clip on some models that have an agressive pattern, yet CS has a hard time figuring out how to do it themselves.

Pretty easy mod for anyone who's even marginally handy, combine that with the facts that:

1. There's probably a few users who want/like/require aggressive texturing
2. You can remove texturing easier than you can reapply it

And you may arrive at the reason why CS hasn't radically changed their texturing on the handles, my 2 cents. :)

But I do admit there's a lot of the pocket shredding threads out there, also. :o
