Howz Busse's AK-47 compare with some Japanese katana like last legend or bugei on sharpness and durability?

I want one AK-47....yet....i can't think of a good reason to have it. I mean, it is not a EDC, I am not living in a war zone that need it to survive. At the same time there is a unspeakable force pulling me into it.

Do i sound crazy, spending on a 600 dollar knife that has no where to use it.

regardless of purchasing....i can't even decide to go for a black or gray finished blade.

I don't know what i am asking anymore...i guess i just need people to talk with.:(

LOL! Sometimes, there are just things that you HAVE to do. This may be one of em.

I can only say that if I had the $$$ available, there would be no question. I would concoct some story about blackberry thickets or something to justify it, but in the end...I JUST WANT ONE! ;)

You're not alone, bro. :D

There are a lot of things that I want just because of the "cool" factor associated with it. The AK is one of those things. If I got one, I'd probably just hang onto it for the collector value. The orginal AKs were not available for a long time and they've been selling at incredible prices (well over a grand) on the secondary market. After seeing the Garth demo and some of the other user pics, I've been tempted........

If I had the dough, I would be there snapping them up like delicious waffles- Belgian waffles with strawberries.

Want one? Heck I want two! I'd keep one for about 5 years in a safe and resell it for twice it's worth. The other one I'd bead blast and fight zombies with.

Then of course I woke up and realized I don't have 600.00 let alone 1,200.00.

Oh well... the search continues for other Busses, A2 models....:D

Yea,I need people to talk with also....people that have no money but want all kinds of stuff...I want the AK...wish I could get two. But I am saving for the SWKW surprise in the new year. If you can do it....then do it The AK is just plain badass.....I have a couple of other swords (fantasy) but nothing "real" like an AK would be......that would just be too cool. If I had the cash I would own all kinds of Busse and Swamp Rats......My family has been hit with about $4500 in bills this last two months......out of the ordinary stuff......I almost cry when I think of the knives I could not get because of it and will long for many years from now........So, if you can.....then get it...who cares if you don't need it.............:D

peace, John

I have bought so many things in life just for the "Cool Factor". Some lived up to the billing, some did not. I got an AK Tan/Tan and it certainly does. The worst that can happen if you get one and convince yourself later that you just don't need it, you sell it in all likelyhood at a profit. I doubt I will ever part with mine though, it's just too kewl.

I just took out my Cue...which it is 30 inch long. As i hold it....i feel AK47 29" is kind of short than i imagine. Samurai always carries set of 3 knives for encounter different situation. Isn't it shorter than longerest samurai swords??

I know it is weird to compare a sword to a cue, that is the best i can do to have a "feel" drive before i made my final decision of purchase.

I received my AK yesterday. Extremely yum. Very, very yum. Like the others. No real reason to have it. Strong, sharp, and wow!

Although, all I can think about is a AK-74! Jerry, please help me.

Cheers,
BJB

I think you should have looked at a yard stick before you bought it. It's not comparable to a katana, the closest Japanese equivalent would be the Wakazashi, which is a Japanse short sword. As far as strength goes, I don't think you'll ever find a sword as strong as this one. (with the same thickness)

Since when has not needing one ever stopped anyone from owning something. Let's face it, if you have more tan one knife of a certain size you have overkill, so this is no different.
