AK and microwave (question)

Have a GE Spacemaker wall-mounted microwave, and just noticed that the vent fan turned on by itself (I was boiling some tea beneath it). In fact, had a tough time turning it off (slow to respond to me pressing the button on the pad). Normal?
Haven't seen this before.

Is there a quality AK clone with a stock suitable for taller people (6'3")?

Thanks.

Seems like all the AK's have short butstocks.

You can put a spacer on your butstock to gain some length.

I have a GE spacemaker as well and I have never had the vent fan turn on by itself nor has it ever been slow to respond. When it turned on what did the display say?

Hi,

Yes, your microwave is supposed to do that if you are cooking under it and the heat gets too high. It's supposed to prevent heat damage to the electronic components. It should also shut off automatically when the temp drops enough.

As far as your AK goes, they are made for short people. Add a slip-on recoil pad, or make a spacer.

I didn't look, but the fan was on the lower setting. After pressing several times (and alternating between high and low setting) it turned off.

For taller people, would the FN FAL-type rifle work better?

Hi,

A FAL would be better. And perhaps has a better after-market selection. But AR's are probably the best choice for us taller people.

Arsenal makes a NATO length fixed stock and if I am not mistaken they also make an extended NATO stock I have an Arsenal 5.45 and the stock is a bit short when I bring the rifle up to my shoulder I find my face naturally coming quite close to the back of the receiver so a NATO length stock might be in the future.

Its a goofy look but you can modify a AK to accept AR stocks, looks like ass but it gives you the length you need. Me personally if I ever were to get an AK I'd just go with a Yugo and a stock insert to lengthen it. I'm just not down for paying over $600 for an AK...just seems wrong.

I spent $760 on my Arsenal AK and I spent that much because I wanted an AK but I never found an AK that made me really want to get one, sure the Romanians ,Bulgarians, Chinese and Yugo AKs and such are good shooting and tough rifles but they just were not for me then I found the Arsenals being made in Russia out of new parts in a factory that has been operating for over 200 years and it is the same factory that made my Mosin Nagant M44 I think so that did it for me. Pay what you want for an AK I am not saying that you have to buy an Arsenal but they do make AK stocks in extended lengths.

I here you, but still when someone says AK I think sub 500 price range...Arsenal and Veprs are nice and all, but it just doesn't seem very drag out and beat the piss out of to me.

Yes, you should shoot your microwave with your AK.

I know that's not the question you asked, but it is the question you actually meant.

You don't have to shoot it, unless you might be tempted to actually put food in it. I heard they are a natural faraday cage.

Who is making actual AK's? I'm aware of many AKMs but not AKs. I would think they would command a higher price than the current lot of AKMs circulating around in the marketplace.

Vltor makes a good buffer tube for ak-47-74's that will allow all aftermarket stocks and that way u can maintain the same cheek weld as your ar assuming u have one anyway Good luck
