I just got my new AK Bowie. Up to now I've resisted this knife because I found it aesthetically unappealing, but various testimonials combined with a half-price deal obliged me to give it a try when the last one sat on the block for a day or two.
It would seem logical that another new HI knife might not make me say "wow!" after the first dozen or two, but as always, the magic is still there.
This bowie fits my hand like a glove. Feels fast and light, but cuts with authority. It reminds me of the Pen-knife in its combined simplicity and functional form. I'll hone up the edge to scary-sharp and give a field report this winter, hopefully after my boys and I put an elk and a few whitetails in the freezer.
To those of you who were tempted but sitting on the fence when this one was for sale, I recommend you set a few dollars aside and keep an eye out for the next one, and thanks for letting me grab this one.
