Man, this is one sweet knife. :D I got it a few days ago but didn't have a chance to play with it till today. It's massive and what a chopper! It just snicks thru 1 inch branches like they're not even there. It took about three chops to get all the way thru a 3 inch thick sapling and the tip on this thing will never break or bend. I stabbed it into the end of some logs about 1/2 an inch and levered it out with absolutely no damage.
Mine's a little different from the pictures I've seen of other AK Bowie's in that it only has one fuller - a rather shallow top fuller. It's Mercedes leafspring heritage is obvious in several spots but what the hell, if any knife was ever meant to be a user, this is it. The handle is very comfortable - wish they would make some khuks in that configuration. It wasn't especially sharp out of the box but a few passes with a diamond jewelstick made it shaving sharp. After chopping it wouldn't shave but was still sharp enough to whittle and a few strokes on the rod brought it back.
Of course, Uncle Bill provided his usual super service. Delivery only took three days and when I emailed him to report safe arrival, I asked about the single fuller. He immediately emailed back offering to exchange it if I wasn't happy. I said I'd keep since it gave me an excuse to get another one in the future.;)
All in all, you can't go wrong with an AK Bowie - especially if you want the King Kong of the Bowie world!

Yes, the HI Bird and Trout ( aka AK Bowie ) is definitely one of the nicest of the little knives in their line.

They must grow the birds and fish pretty darn huge there... :D

Not our best seller but it continues to be steady enough to remain in the product line. Thanks for report.
