Just want to show some pictures of a sheath I just finished up for my HI AK Bowie.

Retention is great......This thing is not coming out!

Enjoy.

Looks very nice. You did a great job on it, good clean lines. You have to love the shackle system it works perfectly when out and about. I am making a sheath for my DOD Farm Knife, almost has the same lines. Great Job.

That's beautiful! Man, now I want one too for my AK Bowie, which looks almost exactly like yours except for a slightly more curvy handle. Kudos on a good job done.

Excellent design! Sir would you be offended if I borrowed your design for my new AK Bowie? I am very impressed....

No problem......I would be honored!

Not really my design anyhow. I just borrowed a bunch of ideas from sheaths I've seen on the net.

thanks

Hey Tenbrook, looks like you did a nice job on that sheath. It looks well thought out and executed. Are you planning to stitch the whole thing or just leave it with only the back stitched? By the way, that style sheath also works great for Khukris. :)

A little friendly advice if I may: Using a drill or drill press to punch the holes for stitching makes things really easy. I use an inexpencive drill press from Harbor Freight with a 5/64" or smaller bit to punch my holes. For me, it's faster and cleaner then a hole punch when working with that thickness of leather.

Another thing, if you want to give a nice clean and soft look to your edges get a Edge Beveler, Size 3 is what I use. You knock the corners off the edges with it then use sand paper to round them. After sanding the edges you can use Gum Tragacanth to polish the edges.
