Hi Guys
notwithstanding a horrific Paypal foul up, my Bowie arrived in NZ within 6 days. Having never seen one in the flesh I was unsure what to expect; well to paraphrase Mick Dundee " thats not a knife this AK Bowie is a knife"
I don't think I have seen such a thing before, bought of the UBBB thread as a user, now i'll have to get a Cherokee Rose as a keeper.
Thanks to all ;)
Phil :)

Yeah, I was just thinking about the Rose today. May just have to break down and get one. Just in case any bars roam into my back yard.

I haven't had any trouble with bears since I got my first Rose...must be the right thing!

I also worry about moose...so I got a second Rose.

You have the funds to be a blade hog. I salute you. You'll run out of animals to blame for purchase soon.....

Now there's a scary thought...maybe I need a Khuk for those!?

You don't have a 30" Kobra for "Snow Snakes?"!!!!!
Snow Snakes never bite but they're the most deadly snake in the world but never ever bite anyone. Unfortunately they are a "Winter Snake" in that they only come out when there's snow on the ground because of their lack of camoflauge otherwise being snow white with black eyes and tongue. Deadly, deadly, deadly!!!!

Thanks Edutsi! I'll watch for a long Kobra in the UBBB's...

Hi Guys
Its just coming up to summer in NZ, Auckland is sub-tropical = it rains a lot .The only dangerous animals in my backyard are two legged ones, no snow snakes, bears or moose. Shame really they would add some character to the neighbourhood. Will have to watrch for a Rose.
Phil :)

Have one of the early ones and it is as tough as they come. Makes a great conversation piece when out camping;) :D

Also, for you fence sitters wondering if you should get one, absolutely! To paraphrase Lays "You know you can't have just one HI product!" ;) :D

IIRC the earliest came with full half inch spines, the later with 7/16ths.

I have two HI Bowies made by Bura. I purchased them about 2 years apart.
The first one became more or less a cabinet piece, as I felt the handle diameter was too large and round for regular use.
The second one purchased recently on one of UBBB, had a different shaped handle. It was more flat like slabs, thinner and easier for me to handle. I like it alot.
I queried UB about a wood handled HI Bowie, but he said they had never made one with wood. I wouldn't mind seeing one in wood, seeing He**, I'd jump on it in a minute!
