One question...

Aside from the size (16.5" as opposed to 15"or 18") is there anything different between the chiruwa AK versus the "normal" AK's?

And in reagards to my earlier posts on a general all-purpose hiking/camping knife, how would people rate the CAK versus a 15"AK or 18"siru?

dif between an ak and a cak...

ak = ang khola
cak= chiruwa ang khola

chiruwa = the style of handle... which is a full tang with handle slabs pinned on each side :)
there is no difference in the blade. some prefer how the standard handle feels more comfortable and some swear by the chiruwas durability.
im sure other will chime in with their opinions on the subject.

15" ak/cak vs. 18" siru?
both are different monsters best suited to different task
i suggest you buy both :D
(serious answer: the 15" ak/cak = chopper and 18" siru = brush clearer)

happy HIKV

The chiruwa handle balances the knife differently. There is less weight forward from a like sized regular AK, it not investing as much metal in the handle. The chiruwa is a better crowbar. It is the only blade with the get two if you break it deal, if it's still in effect.

Some people prefer the chiruwa style.

If it balances the knife by making the weight less forward, i'm assuming this means more weight on the handle? Is the overall weight increased significantly? how have people found the cak? i don't hear much about it on the forums....

The 16.5" chiruwa AK usually weighs about what a 18" WWll or AK weighs; 27 to 30 ounces. There are many fans of this knife. It chops differently- more weight is distributed in the handle because the tang has more metal. Some say this design imparts more impact to the user. Fans love it because it's tough, chops like a 18" AK, and carries a little easier. It is not your martial arts blade. This is a Zombie delimber.
