AK finally arrived

Some of you guys might remember that back in a while I was ranting about the USPS guys losing stuff - especially when it comes to my stuff. Back then, I had ordered a blem from Uncle Bill. It was a 15" AK by Sher. To make a long story short, it got lost. Now, after abou three months, I got a replacement (the long waiting time was due to the fact that HI could only claim the product lost [insurance] after 60 days).

When I came home, a letter was in my mailbox, saying that GLS delivered the package at 9:30 BUT, what a surprise, no one was home. normal people work at that time. whatever, I called them instantly, and the guy got back to my house around 15.00, which was very cool of him btw.

I was so stoked when I finally opened the package. In there was a new 15" AK with horn handles. New, no blem. No rust, nothing. That kinda stuff is service way beyond the normal level. That is just f*cking great.

HI, here's to you, I love you guys. This blade has truly mojo. The karda and chakma are so tiny, but what the hell, I'm not gonna hack with those anyway :D

I already tried the AK, and it is a mighty chopper. I love it. Thanks for giving me this opportunity.

cheers to everyone, I'm having a beer to finish this wonderful day.

Keno

btw, please excuse grammar as well as language mistakes etc. I'm from good old germany

fishing for compliments i guess... ;-)
you never know. I already had a beer or two or three so I though I'd better put a disclaimer below it just in case I totally f*cked up.

That's another one that I can't take credit for. I think "torture knives" came from an e-bay auctioneer who didn't know much about khukuries.

I actually don't write anything, but people somehow attribute things to me.

I invented the internet. Not that Al Gore fella.

It's true...I looked it up. This is what I got when I searched for "first page"

um...hello. If you happen to see this, please find me and give me a good name for it. I was thinking "whatchmacallit". Sounded catchy. Some guy from tennessee said he liked "internet". Geez...kooks all around. I told him to get a life, maybe become a politician.

So the original is still lost? I wonder if any postal employee's are fans of HI.

Also -- at eBay: "skinning knives"; "throwing knives": "hide-out knives."

yes, the original still hasn't shown up. apart from that, i'm pretty sure it never will. usual stuff takes a week or two to arrive, not 3 months. indeed it seems some of the postal guys like khuks.

Hello Richardallen,
have you noticed that since the triangle-boxes are delivered by GLS the customs are more interested in charging duties? With the "old" packages delivered by German Post this was no problem - but now I receive a letter two months after the package and they charge about 20-30% :grumpy:

(OK, wir haettens auch deutsch ausdiskutieren koennen - aber ich dachte, dann haben die anderen auch was von diesem post....)

Andreas

nope, haven't noticed that. hardly could, cause this was my first box from HI. I got a package from New Graham like a year ago, and I had to pay taxes for that one as well. Kinda sucks, but whatever.

I just keep going on in english since we're not 'at home'.

gruss,

cheez
