I just did some work on my AK with my Edge Pro. Actually done about a week ago. I had to do it section by section which really sucked. It was a pain but I am pleased with the results. But I can do better next time. Lighting sucks right now but you get the idea.

Here is the AK batonning through a really hard piece of wood.

Ahhhhh T.Lawson you have gone far... Pluck a HOG:D and if it parts it is now truly sharp...

Heh Looks like another stand up job! Can't wait for the vid;)

No vids tonight as I am too tired. But here are a few pics. I easily notice a better bite now. One chop into this dry, pretty tough log and it sank right in.
(You can see the sharpie marks still on the blade marking the sections. I'll clean them tomorrow)

I'd grab one of these bad boys if you can before they are all gone. The secondary market price is gonna suck. But still worth it.

I just have to scrap some $$$ together for a sheath next.

:)

You WIMP!!!!!

You couldn't split that lil ol log in one mighty hit????????:D

You make me want a user AK more and more. Just can't bring myself to use the 2007 Induction AK;)

Hmmmmm, What can I trade to get an AK???

Lookin' Good Tyrkon!

So how log did it actually take to put that edge on? But more importantly...
Can I send you mine for that edge treatment? :D :D

I've got an Edge Pro on it's way to me right now. All of your polishing and reprofiling has gotten me a'wantin one.

Nice job, I need to get an edgepro. If the next offering is the Scotch Dispenser that'll free up the cash for the edgepro.
Looking forward to the videos.
Can't wait to see that AK in action

With the AK I had to add a little mod to the Edge Pro. Very simple actually. I'll take pics of it later and explain. IT wasn't horribly draining to sharpen it but I had to split the job up into a few days do to being so busy right now. But it worked well enough. ;)

Here is the AK batonning through a really hard piece of wood. A thicker tool would have been better for splitting but this thread is about the AK and having fun with it so here it is.

The full clip was about 3 minutes. Things would have gone much faster if the dead blow hammer was heavier. My last hammer bent doing this.

The first step was to try to get the blade into the entire diameter of the log. Then it was just a matter of batonning the AK through. Eventually the log split. The edge was completely unharmed.

Realistically, if I needed to baton some wood for a fire I would choose pieces of wood with a much small diameter. :)

Nice job Tyrkon! That monster looks like it can split atoms!!

Thanks man. That last one I tried to split, at our gathering, was almost the death of me. It was that gimungus knot it had in it. So this was payback. I went for it's cousin. :D

That goddam thing was MEAN!! :p I didn't even want to go for THAT one! There WASN'T a knot in that thing....that thing WAS a knot!! The whole log!!

I think after sharpening the AK it is time to order a new set of stones for the Edge Pro. Especially the coarser grits. Time to bargain shop.

That must have been a pita so many inches of blade. Btw but some damn shoes on when you baton a 3 foot INFI blade into a hardwood log, the log might explode.

What do you mean? Those are shoes. It's then new "natural" look. :p
