Looking for a consensus on the price for an AK unused Black/Black.
What would you pay?

That is a very subjective question. It depends on how much I wanted one. I know that sounds over-simplefied however, when the knife you must have is available to you you will spend more/what it takes. It all depends on the "How much do I want this" equation. If this knife is what you want then pull the trigger and no regrets! JMHO  ;) I have seen them go for $700-$800 and maybe more. Hope that helps!

Indeed. I would expect in a year or so to pay more. That is what I feel is fair currently for a mint AK.

yeah, they're not going very high right now, unless it's specialized in some way. I'd say 700 is fair, 650 would be a good buy, 600 is excellent.

Of course 700 for an ak AND sheath, like what brian just sold on the exchange, is a very good deal!

Agreed, actually I think they are a bit under valued at the moment JMHO.

If you are looking for a paricular color combination for an out of production Busse and find it for a 20% markup from retail, the first year out of production, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Several of the game wardens seem to cost more than that markup.

$587.00 retail, plus $117.40 = $704.40

When the Straight Handled knives when out of production a flat $50.00 markup was nearly instant, with a $100.00 markup on several within a year or so that was a pretty big jump for Mean Streets and Badgers.

Wait a while and looks for bargins if you like, some folks will no doubt need to sell, and for the time being, users might sell at a discount.

On the other hand, if you find what you are looking for getting it now for a bit more might just save you $$ down the road as More than a few Piggy Types have discovered.

The Retail price for the Swords seemed under priced to me to the point that I ordered Nine of them, I have two left and may get a few more they make great gifts and real good Trade goods, and I think a good long term(5 years+) investments.

$587 retail, but don't forget the shipping which is part of the cost. So that puts you over $600. At $700 the markup is fairly low and I would buy one if I was in the market for one. Hell, I would probably go 750 fo one. As far as I am concerned they are the best deal in big infi right now and if I had the spare cash I'd buy some.

The real kicker here is the Rucks. There were not many made and they are about the same price as the AK. I would expect them to be at 200 above the ak right now and cloer to $1000, the rucks are the real steal right now. at 650 they are cheap IMO..

Let me translate:

Cobalt has 12 Rucks :p

For me it depends on the combo. I usually never buy anything other than CG knives as mine are all users and will be scuffed up soon enough. $700, right now, is not bad. Not much of a mark up. If you look at blades like the SFNO, which has an unreal mark up (I still want one ;) ) you will see that $100 or so is not that big a deal for the amount of INFI you get with an AK.

I wish I did have 12 or even 5. But there was very few, so that is not the case. But the Ruck is what I was going to try and cut the AK down to.
