While ordering my skeleton key this past weekend, something hit me. Is the reason the AK47 and skeleton key being offered simultaneously have anything to do with traditional samurai swords that carry two small blades on their scabbard? I am not sure what the proper term is for these knives but they fit through the guard on the sword while sheathed. What would the Busse sheath/scabbard look like? Would be interesting to see.

I thought they carried two knives for a different purpose. One to use in combat against a foe and another for suicide in case of capture or dishonour. Both blades (I think) are carried in a single sheath that is carried either on the belt or accross the back.

I think it's a coincedence. You will notice that there is no traditional guard on the AK to hold such item. I'm sure leatherman or other sheath maker could do a piggyback style of sheath.
For more info, see www.bugei.com that will give you a detailed account of how katanas were used with their companion knives.
It just hit me. What would really be cool is a sheath with multiple SKs riding on both sides. Heck, you should be able to fit at least 4 piggybacked. Of course, I'm just talking here.

I went to the website that Walking Man listed, and it got me thinking.

Jerry can we see some pics of the AK's cutting stuff. :D

Moveover,

That's a nice Yard stick,,,kind of hard to find the nice old tapered square yard sticks
I have one that's maybe 40 years old,,,they used to be available at tractor auctions in Texas.

Where did you get that one?

That cardboard sheath is too funny. Its scary how minds think alike. I wanted to make one of those but thought everyone would say I have too much time on my hands. That is what I was talking about and I'm glad that everyone caught onto what I was trying to say.

Thanks Andre. The Farm Bureau has a building at the Minnesota State Fair and they give/sell them each year. The last one I got was about 20 years ago and I think it was free. My mom picked this one up for me this year. I didn't ask her if it was free or not, but she didn't ask me for any $$ so it was free for me. :D They are great as walking sticks and makeshift monopods for close-up pics.
