ak47 grind length

Just got the AK-47 and noticed the cutting edge seems to stop about an 1/8" short of the ricasso . does anyone else notice this on theirs,,don't know if it is just the A.K that has this design

I've heard similar complaints with the AK47, as well as the Rajah series.

I had a Rajah, though i do not recall if it had that type of geometry
