I`m looking for a Katana style sheath for one of Mr Busse`s AK47 swords, is there anyone that has had one made? or someplace that can make one without having to send the AK to them?

I`ve seen all the kydex ones and they look very good but I would like something kinda traditional looking with a twist for the modern AK47.

Thanks

if you are going to search for one, start looking for a wakizashi saya, the katana saya is too long, an AK47 is just a tad under wakizashi length.

Let me rephrase, not atcually looking for a katana/waki saya but a saya/scabbard/sheath made out of traditional materials I:E wood stained or laqured or wrapped in leather something like that not modern kydex.

i can put my 2 bits in and say Russ of Tritonworks is a great guy and possibly a better scabbard maker.

:D

seriously though, don't be afraid to drop him an email! I wholeheartedly recommend his work.

Thank you for the suggestions, I just emailed Russ at Tritonworks and he says that he needs the sword to make a scabbard, I was hoping he allready had one but I guess not.

Im up in Canada and it would be a hassle to send it in, maybe someday one of you guys will need one made by Russ and I can tag along and get him to make two.

His scabbards look really nice, the one he shows a picture of would be sweet for the AK, maybe even wrapped in a flat black leather.

hey Dradee,

I'm in Toronto and ordered from Russ without any problems. Just make sure that you send via Canada Post and he sends via USPS.

Russ will also have to deem this as a repair on the package or return or whatever so you don't have to pay duties.

Just make sure you pack that thing so it passes the 5 foot story drop test.

dradee - send me an email. I'm getting an AK-47 fairly soon (it was shipped yesterday) and will need a scabbard. I was thinking a leather scabbard, but a wood core one would be nice too. If you're willing to share the cost of shipping one blade we might be able to work something out. Maybe we could even get Russ to work a deal for two scabbards... Do you know his waiting period currently?

Email addy - taholter@shaw.ca

Xizor, Ya I would be into that for sure. He did mention that he had a waiting list but we didnt get into specifics.

He seems like a good guy and his scabbards look really good, I would want one wrapped in flat black leather with maybe a AK47 logo .

Do you have a rough idea what these are going to cost? I've been thinking about getting something like that too.

Talked to Russ @ Triton and the wait list is a year and cost is approx $200.00. I'm on the wait list and will be sending my AK to him when the time comes. If anyone is interested - let me know and while he has my AK he can work on a sheath for yours... as long as you chip in for expedited shipping costs, etc... In the interim I'll be getting a local leather guy to do up a sheath for mine...

Regards,

Tim
