I have the invite package here, but I don't think I'll be able to go. It's just out of my league: $150 entrance, plus flight to SoCal, plus hotel.... I just woudn't be able to buy anything...

That was my chance to see work by Loerchner, Reverdy, Steinau, Herman, and "a few others". Maybe in 2 years. I note that Y. Yoshihara isn't on the list anymore...

Too much money to get in the door.I'll never go.
As the collector I am, they should pay my way into the show.

They would lose money on the dinner! :p Randy, that is just a danged bad attitude. It is a nice room, open bar, good food, and great eye candy. You should just friggin' come down to hang out with me. We could be two of very few people in the room dressed in loud hawaiian shirts.

Joss, I am going, drf1 is going, Dave Ellis is going. Dr. Darom and his wife are going.

You can stay at my house, if you want to save the $100+ for the hotel room. I have a nice guest room. I also have 5 cats, so if you are allergic, be forewarned. Oh, yeah, Yoshindo is very, very much going to be selling at the show.

Best Regards,

STeven,

Thanks a lot for the generous offer. That might tip the scale. Let me get back to you by the end of the w-e (I'm going to Bladewest, and if I spend my knife money there, well.... :)). I have 2 cats myself.

Cheers,

JD

This is the first knife show I went to after I started collecting 2 1/2 years ago. I can't wait. It's a great city, great venue, worlds finest knifemakers and an overall phenomenal show. I'm even bringing my wife. I have met some of the nicest classiest people at this show

No, I won't be there. But... its worth every penny for a serious collector. Lucky are those who get a chance. The venue, the clientele, the makers, the promoter, and the knives... The whole package is simply the most upscale show on the planet.

If only to experience it, go.
