Went up to the Plaza Show and got a little crazy, picked up a Steve Kelly liner lock(really fantastic knife), a CRK Sebenza 25 with micarta inlays, and a Darrin Thomas gent's folder with hippo tooth inlays(also great!)....then later that week, picked up two Hinderer knives(XM-24 Bowie and a XM-18 Wharnie....not very impressed, gotta say) and then....a couple ZT's....the Les George flipper and the new Sinkovich Flipper.....happy dance time! Will post pics when able

Last weekend, Ferrum Forge had a get together co-sponsored by Andy Leonard at Nalpak.

I blew it bigtime by not announcing that beforehand, as it would have been awesome for more So-Cal collectors to come out and have a good time in a real knife shop...sorry!:o Won't make that mistake again.

I think Josh Lee from Strider was there, a newer maker named Cody Fodale attended, Steel Combs was there, Nalpak, a cool leather group....had to leave early to attend a non-profit fundraiser with my wife, but will get more involved with the next one from the beginning.

Anyway, NEXT weekend, October 31(yes, Halloween) is the Art Knife Invitational. Brought Phil Lobred out with me to Ferrum Forge, and we sat down and did a quick interview to talk about the AKI and put it up on the Knife TV youtube site.

There are a few spots left available. I don't know how much longer Phil is going to be able to manage doing the show, he has Parkinson's Disease and is also in his '70's, so if you have been thinking about attending the AKI and would like to meet the greatness that is Phil Lobred, this would be the year to do it, and that ain't no joke!

Adam and I will be interviewing at the show and displaying some of the knives throughout the day, and we will try to get as many segments posted up to the site as possible during the day, so you can all see what is going on, not in real time, but pretty close. While Periscope may have decent uses for some applications, I think it is a sack of runny poop, so we will not be using that platform EVER again, and sorry to those of you who tried to watch the first few videos....we strive to do better than that.

The ones up on the site now with interviews from Emerson, Hinderer and the Ferrum Forge stuff were all shot in HD and look pretty good, so hopefully, you will find the AKI stuff interesting.

If you have videos that you want to share with us, we are totally appreciative of that, and want to aggregate as much cool knife content as possible. Good stuff, not idiotic crap, and you know what that is about. We will keep trying to make it better, and have content that isn't the same old same old.

Any ideas are always appreciated, Adam is wanting to try some new concepts, so as we get it worked out, we will post it up and let you all know about it.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Ah, Steven, I do miss the AKI© after going to every show between 2001-2011,
but I shall not miss displaying some of the knives from this show in my next book....

I know you will have a great time, so enjoy!

All the best,
