AKTA - 2000 was A Huge Sucess!!!!!!!!

The American Knife Throwers Alliance 5th annual National Championships was a huge success. With contestants from across the US and from around the globe it just keeps getting better. A special thanks to our forum members Andy Prisco from the Busse forum and his lovely wife Amy as well as Patte Gauche and his lovely wife Leslie for all of their support. Thanks to Mark K and his lovely wife for posting pics from Fridays events. You have not lived until you have had an opprotunity to play knives with Andy and Amy Prisco, Steve McEvoy of Tru Bal Knives, my friend Buster and his friend Donna at midnight sitting around a table with a bunch of Busses, Vorpals, Spydercos, Tru Bal's and Branton's. Then we got to go outside and start slinging blades under a streetlight in my back yard, watch a bit of mock knifefighting as well as watching Buster throw at an imaginary foe at distances from 3 to 15 feet with deadly accuracy. Makes me wonder about the possibly of being able to actually use a throwing knife for self defense. I will be posing scores for those who keep up with that sort of thing. With all of the feedback from this years event, next years event which will be held on the same week end will be even better. My thanks to ALL who helped make AKTA 2000 a huge success.

Bobby....thanks for your warm comments here....Amy and I had a WONDERFUL time at the event, especially passing the evening with you, Brenda, Steve, CarolAnn, Buster, and Donna. All GREAT people.

I have already begun talking with some new friends I made at the event, via e-mail.

I am also planning a practice regimen to undertake in preparation for the next contest....being with other knife-throwers has heightened my excitement and love of the sport even more...my thanks to all for that!!!
