Where can I find out more about AKTI? Who they are and what they do?

I know there's an AKTI forum here but there's no description of what exactly it is? How do you become a member?

In a nutshell, they're like the NRA. They promote a positive image of knives and try to positively influence legislation about knives. They're a relatively new organization and as such don't have a broad base yet so every member matters.
