All, for your review are two Ticklers that I believe had replacement blades made by Al Buck. The first is an early LL Bean stag handled Tickler with what appears to be a BUCK stamp. The other I believe is a Western stag handled tickler with a script BUCK stamp. I was very excited to acquire these and look forward to your thoughts. Enjoy, Dale

They look good to me. Still, I cannot authenticate them and there would be very few which could. Perhaps two at the Buck plant which is where I'd send them and ask for a letter of authentication. These pieces verified would be extremely rare. Thanks for showing them. DM

David, I have sent other pictures of these to Joe and he said that he just smiled. A good sign for sure. I am awaiting his further reply and will send the knifes off to him for LOAs. I am smiling too as I hope many of you vintage collectors are as well. I have a couple of the 117's that have been verified, so these are an awesome set to share space with the 117's. thanks for the comments.

A knife of this stature sharing space with a 117 makes it no laughing matter. I'm sure you have some serious collectors attention on these models. The extra pin or hole in the knife on the right causes me to wonder. DM

Dave, the hole in the bolster appears on both of the knives and is original to the design of a Tickler model. I believe some versions of the original had a bail pinned through that location. So from a parts inventory position, stock was predrilled?? I acquired these from a gentleman who's father collected Bucks well into his 80's. His father passed many years ago, but we are just now liquidating the collection. Given the history and timing of this collector, we may have authentic blade replacements. The stamps look perfect. Thanks.

What big fun for me to see these. Thank you for the photos Dale. Great background for the photo BTW.

The blades on your new oldies look like the blades on Joe Houser's re-blade, from his OKCA 2013 Display:

Here is a photo of the entire display for your amusement:

Thanks for sharing, Oregon. Joe's knives are amazing. Love the BBQ set and Axes.

Dale, thanks for sharing these pictures. It is a real treat to see such things!

Oregon, BTW, you have a good eye. In the background is my early 121 Lucite and my 2 "minty" lucite 120's. You can find them in the 1949 catalogue. I figured a few early filets would go well with the Ticklers. Thanks to the many collectors who have donated to my collection ;).
