I know youtube is a horrible waste of time...

this is #3 on youtube trending list, somehow


so much work, its a bit amazing this worked
 
what gets me is how much time was spent on a really numerous & exhaustive stone count
 
I definitely thought so, after the 'forging' - it seems like the foil was replaced by a slab or bar stock... but the later visible layering made me reconsider
 
I don't know much, but, I don't think you can forge weld aluminum on a kitchen stove. Like using argon to tig weld aluminum is a hoax or something.
 
1220 F is the melting point for aluminum... so really should be fairly easy on gas like that. I haven't tried it, but it is a fairly low temp requirement
