This is a quick review of my Al Mar Eagle. About a month ago I got a lost package that I ordered in Iraq summer 2009. Within it was a Eagle,Hawk, and Falcon Talon Blade Ultralite folder. I have been using the Eagle alot lately. Works great on brownies and pork chops :) Over this past week I took it with me out on training and in my down time wittled on some sticks, cut para cord and used it for food prep. This knife is awesome. Lite wgt. and slim. Great gent/camp/edc folder. Getting these were great timing. After reading Steve Dicks write up in Tactical Knives Mag. I was about to order them again. Glad I didn't. I am looking forward to the reg blade models as well as the ones with a liner. Anyway I highly recommend this and the smaller two. Thanks.

Thanks for the review. I have heavy knives and light knives. The light knives get carried a lot more. ;)

Thanks for the review mate, been thinking about getting one of these Al Mar gent knives.

Sweet looking knife Caine. What is the difference with the ones with liners? Metal frame and stronger?

they have a metal frame and a bolster. Probaly wgt alittle more.

I love Al Mar knives. The fit and finish on them is amazing, especially for a production knife. Great write up and glad your package finally arrived!

I got eagle (biggest) about quarteryear ago, almost sold it, but Im glad I didn't. I don't know what went to me.
Anyway, I like to take the clip out and slip it into my pocket. As I have convex fetish, I convexed it and gave it nasty edge. Really good for all kinds of utility needs. Some could not prefer it due the lack of belly or because of the "pointiness", but I have found the long cutting edge really handy when getting rid of big cardboard boxes and cutting meter long paper sheets out of machines.
It feels a bit flimsy and toyish first due to the weight and thin nature, but it's fantastic performer. Can't really go back to thick "heavy use" folders anymore after this and Fäll U1 and such.
