Does anyone know if Al Mar Knives is going to be producing any non-ultralight Falcons in the near future? Everywhere i look, all i see are ultralights. Great knives, but i would like to see about getting a Cocobolo handle or maybe micarta...or whatever else might be made. The old site said something about having them in stock again sometime this year. I forgot the date it said. Now that site is gone, replaced by Sonoma cutlery, and there is no mention of anything except the ultralights. It's like the regular Falcon just dropped off the face of the planet. Thanks for any information.

I have the Al Mar Hawk in jigged bone with stainless bolsters. It's an excellent knife that I carry almost every day. I bought it from A G Russell Knives. I highly recommend Al Mar....excellent quality, almost perfect fit and finish. It seems like I saw the knife you are looking for in A G's catalog recently. Good luck in your search.

I have numerous catalogs coming in from Spyderco, Russell, Benchmade...Man i hate waiting for these things. It's already been close to three weeks. Anyway, thanks for the responses so far. The Russell site only lists the Eagle, Hawk and Osprey right now. I'm cool with waiting for the Falcons reappearance, but i really wish i knew for sure it was actually on the way. For all i can find, it may have been discontinued. I sent a message to Sonoma Cutlery but have not heard back yet. Anybody out here know a better place to inquire? Thanks again.

ASBOB! You have some kinda magical powers? Let me start off by explaining that several days ago, i went to the Al Mar site and it was gone. Error messages abound. So i think i typed it wrong or something. I go to yahoo and type in Al Mar Knives. The old site is not listed in any of the first several pages of results. The first one mentioned is Sonoma Cutlery, with the address of www.almarknives.us, This, along with the wording of the site led me to believe that Al Mar Knives had shut their site down and turned internet selling over to them. When i read your response, i went and tried to see if Sonoma Cutlery had any Al Mar contact info i had missed before. I did not find anything. Then i decided to manually type in the old address again to see if i had missed any contact info from before. Whomp...suckerpunched by a working Al Mar site. Now i have the date i saw earlier. July 15th. Woohaaa. You rock ASBOB. Thanks.

I just spoke to the Al Mar people about 15 minutes ago about a broken clip on my ultra-lite Eagle. Really nice people who dont seem to mind you calling them. Give them a call.--503-670-9080--Bear in mind they're in Oregon.--Time zones.--;)

I have an Ultralight Falcon that I really like. Only reason I no longer use it is it was in my pocket when my 2nd son was born & I'm saving it for him when he's older. If they come out with a dressed up Falcon I just might have to get one.

I just read your post about that when i was looking through all the Falcon related posts before writing my own query. Very cool idea and great gesture. On a separate note, i have recently become aware of the Benchmade Nagara 10700. Is it just me or is this basically a Ti handled version of the Falcon? I know its just a touch bigger and a different lock, but man i like it alot. It reeks of that Falcon shape that i am fond of.

I have a Nagara, and its an awesome knife! all of the hardware is perfectly plished, the handle is nice Ti, and the blade is very shhaarp and efficient at cutting. The Nak-Lock is a very cool design, similar to the spyderco compression lock. Made in China, but they're getting good at it!
