Al Mar Hawk Ultralight Clip?

I did a search and haven't found anything definitive and it's all kind of dated.

Has anyone ever made or rigged up a clip for the Al Mar Hawk Ultralight?

98% of the time I would not want a clip on it! but I recently had one of those 2% times to remind me.

Anything?

I asked about this two years ago, linked above. Eagle and Falcon clips will not fit the Hawk (answer as per Al Mar). No real solution found at the time besides DIY. Consequently I never bought one.

I put a clip on my Hawk many years ago. I got a clip with three holes. I tapped three holes for 1-72 screws into the Micarta, using a slightly smaller pilot bit. Used a bottom tapping bit to get maximum threads cut in the hole. the 1-72 threads hold the Micarta very well. I've never had them pull out or strip. the clip has actually bent once or twice with out damaging the Micarta.

I used the 1-72s so I would get the most threads cut in the Micarta that I could.

Wasn't too hard to do but it took me a while to think it through. Let me know if you want more details.
