Hi,
I have an Al Mar SERE 2000 and I bought it some time ago after reading Jeff Randal's posts about it.
Even though the knife has a very good grip (nice thickness) and has a finely finished grip/liners I have a problem with the grind of the VG10 blade.
I try explaining what my knife has:
Looking at the edge and going towards the grip the edge stops and the full material of the blade "takes over". The edge should be in the middle of the thickness of the blade material in my humble opinion but my blade has a "tilted edge" with this I mean that the edge is on 1/3 of the blade thickness so not "centered" in the middle of the blade thickness.
This is also clearly visible at the gsharpening grind as both sides show a different sharpening grind.
I try to visialize the problem:
This is the way the edge should be "centered"

Mine is

I like to contact Al Mar about this but on their Website I cannot find an email address or a telephone number to reach them.
I really feel bad that this knife set me back $117.50 + postage and that the blade is ground this way
.
My Spyderco Military that I got in a trade with another BF member is ground perfectly symetric!
Please help me finding an email address or telephonenumber.
Best Scouting wishes from Holland,
