Just received an Al Mar, and am familiar with the laser engraved 000/200 they have been putting on their blades since the early/mid 80's. This Shadow is actually stamped (not engraved) #008 on the blade right above the top of the handle. This is the first like this I have run across. Anyone have insight on this stamped #rd Al Mar?

I just checked out my AMK Shadow.
It is marked in the following manner:
Side one of the blade, dead center, 1/8" from the handle is "SEKI-JAPAN", stamped in black.
Side two of the blade, on the left side of the blood groove, approx. 1" from the handle is "AL MAR", stamped in black. To the right side of the blood groove is Al Mar's "chop", stamped in red.
On both sides of the handle is a silver medallion with Al Mar's "chop", blind engraved.
I don't see any serial number at all. I got it in the early to mid eighties.
