Al Mar Knives; No Written Warranty?

I've owned a SERE 2000 for almost a year and have been very happy with it until recently. The blade pivot screw became loose and I lost it. Thanks to CHOMO, a fellow forumite I was able to obtain AMK"s email address and contact them regarding purchasing a replacement blade pivot screw. NO ANSWER!! :mad: :mad:

This got me wondering. If AMK won't contact me regarding purchasing a replacement screw, How do they treat those who have knives with defects that would be considered warranty cases? Especially since AMK does'nt include any paperwork with their knives. Nice boxes, no warranty papers. That sucks! Had I known this, I probably would'nt have purchased this knife.

I know I've asked this before but does anyone know how I can get a replacement blade pivot screw for my SERE 2000? Factory or not.
Once again, I would be thankful for any assistance. :)

You only GOT the email address yesterday, and since today is Saturday, don't you think you're being maybe just a LITTLE bit premature in saying:

Give them a fair chance to respond to you before you write them off as ignoring you.

I'm sure you'll find (as everyone else has) that AMK has an outstanding reputation for great Customer Service.
 
I got a catalog from Al Mar Knives last year (2000) and this is what is printed inside the cover:

We are building some of the finest quality production knives available today.

To compliment this we have upgraded our warranty from a one year limited warranty to a limited lifetime on all of our new knives.

This new warranty starts with our newest models to include the Ultralights, Havana Clipper, S.E.R.E. 2000, Auto S.E.R.E., S.E.R.E. Operator, S.E.R.T., and all new models to follow.

This new limited lifetime warranty is to the original owner. This warranty does not cover abuse to our knives such as a tip breakage, which is by far the most common form of abuse.

This warranty is valid only through us here at AL Mar Knives where we will, at our discretion repair or replace any knife that we determine to be defective. The knife must be shipped to us prepaid with original bill of sale.

All automatic knives must have a Return Merchandise Number Issued Prior to Return.

All automatic knives must include a copy of the owners law enforcement or military identification to be returned directly to us, or they must be returned through the dealership where purchased.
