Hi fellas,
i just need some simple advice... I need a knife for work and i have narrowed it down to 2 knives 1) the Al Mar Mini Sere 2) Mini Manix. i just need some help picking one. Ill mostly be using it to cut cardbord/ plastic zip ties/ packaging/ etc... there seems to be lots of info on the mini manix but not so much on the mini sere. has anyone used both? does anyone have any opinion on the mini sere? anyways, any information/advice would be welcome, thanks.

Both great choices, I have the mini sere and like it a lot.
The biggest difference I see is linerlock vs. back lock? I have uses similar to yours and find the almar linerlock smooth and secure. But, having said that, I really like the flat ground, leaf shaped blade of the mmanix and it is on my list.
Someone else can probably espouse the virtues of the two diff steels. For my daily use I don't think there is really much difference. I have touched up the edges of my VG10 knives w/o problems but haven't tried yet with my BuckMayo in S30V.
