I'm looking for a nice carry blade - usual suspects in mind - Benchmade (numerous), MOD Hornet, a few Spyderco's, Kershaw BOA ..then I spy a new Al Mar with a promising deisgn...the NOMAD - anybody have any actual handling experience with one....???? - I can't seem to find one to test out.

THANKS!

I've had a couple of Nomads...Both were excellent, well-made knives, with perfect fit & finish, and made out of excellent materials (VG-10 steel, G-10 scales, dual stainless liners). The liner-locks on both of the Nomads that I owned had perfect 100% lock-up, with NO blade-play.

They were actually TOO nice a knife to USE as my "utility" EDC.

Glocker - thanks for the input - TOO nice for an every day carry...??? I guess it was the blade design on the Nomad that's got me hooked :D

hmmmmmm....how's about the new Camillus "CUDA Dominator" in S30V w/Titanium frame...at the asking price, I hope they went all out on fit, finish and function!!!

this is my edc, fit and finish are awesome-quality through out-perfect size for most tasks-love the vg-10--edge retention is remarkable and easy to restore-lock up is solid. once you get past the new it is a great edc- could be the most under rated production knife right now. ihave three microtechs and love them--the nomad goes where i go---always---this is the humble opinion of a newbie collector- other knives in my collection include: socom elite auto, amphibian, mini socom, specwar, benchmade bc1cf,sere 2000---the nomad is not my most expensive but is a great carry knife for me
