First off I am a just getting back into knives. Loved them as a kid and kinda got into other interest for a long time (music). Recently I decide to get back into it and pick up a few nice knives. I picked up an SERE, BM 630 and a Ontario RAT-7. I am still reading and learning but have an issue with the SERE. I purchased it used off the forum here. Great knife in excellent condition. Does not even look like it was ever carried. Anyway.. It seems to stick a bit (quite a bit of pressure needed to get it going). Once going it is smooth but not lightening fast..almost like it is dry. I like my folders to be fast but not loose. It seems to have plastic bushings so will oiling it loosen it up? Suggestions?

Thanks,
Hawk

I got a similar one off the forum awhile back. It seemed like the original owner just left it in the box for a few years. The old lube had turned brown. I opened it up, cleaned everything off and applied a very thin coat of Breakfree. Put it back together and tightened the piviot to where I wanted it to be and was good to go.

I will give that try today while watch football... GO BENGALS!!!

Thanks,
Hawk
