Al Mar SERE owners...

I've carried an Al Mar Falcon for 23 years. All i've ever used on it is food grade mineral oil. You can get it at any drug store. It's cheap.

I'm glad I'm not the only who believes you don't need
the latest and greatest hi tech oils to keep a knife in
good shape.

I've used both mineral oil or a drop of "3 in 1" household oil for,
well......ever. I see absoulty no need to waste money on anything
else for the job. Have used both to store my collection knives &
on my users. Never had a minutes problem.

3 in 1 is one of the great old time oils. Been around forever, does what its supposed to. Used it for a long time and still keep some in my camping gear, trunk of the car etc. I always noticed a certain smell to a new S&W revolver. Wondered what oil they used. Took me forever to find out, called them to ask and they wouldn't tell me. They said they used "a number of different oils" Finally noticed the same smell on a Benchmade I sent in for repair. Called them, they use Militec. I bought some and that is pretty much my exclusive oil now. Handguns, knives etc. Its the most tenacious oil I have seen. For rust protection, I prefer the Sentry products, Tuf oil. But to lube moving metal parts, I'm sold on the Militec.
