Al Mar SERE -- what type of Micarta?

What kind of Micarta was used on the original series of SERE folders from Al Mar? (SERE Attack, SERE I and II). I have a SERE II and the Micarta is very smooth, so I am guessing that it is linen Micarta, but it is my first and only folder with Micarta scales so I have nothing to compare it to.

I may be wrong...but I never believed it to be "real" Micarta. It always appeared to me to be a Dymondwood, Pakkawood, or some similar laminate.
