Al Mar Shiva versus Spyderco Street Beat

I have a Al Mar Shiva still in the box which I looked at for the last six months. Somehow the Shiva just feels unconfortable. I sure it's me. The reviews of the Al Mar Shiva are wonderful. But?????.

The Spyderco Street Beat is roughly smaller and weights less and the handle looks like it would index quicker. The street beat comes with a kydex sheath while I have to have a kydex sheath made for the Al Mar since it comes with a Galco leather sheath.

Does anybody have knowledge of both? Your comments would be appreciated. I never handled a Street beat.

Probably plan to carry knife inverted using a Mercop harness. A cross draw deployment from underarm position.

Regards,

I don't know about the Al Mar, but I loved the feel of the Street Beat. I'm very seriously considering it for my next purchase.

I have the street bowie and it's one of my favorite knives ever. Get a Beat, I'm sure you'll love it & it's ergos.

I have a Street Beat, I've handled the Shiva. The handles are vastly different. The Streat Beat handle is "different" enough, that I would definately advise handling before purchase. On the other hand it is a well built and handsome blade. I'd expect you could recoup most of your expense on resale, should you find it not to your liking.
