I have a SERE 2000, but I am missing the clip. I have made several attempts to contact Al Mar Knives via their website to find out how I can get a replacement clip, but have never heard back. Have any other SERE owners run into this problem? If so, how did you resolve it? Thanks.

I've contacted Al Mar via their website twice without reply. Same with a couple of retailers. Poor service or poor I.T.

I'd love to replace the SS clip on my SERE 2000 with one of their blackened (or at least "less shiny") clips, but haven't found a way to get a new clip. I talked to an Al Mar rep about it at the Blade show two years ago with no luck. Other than that, I love my SERE 2000.

If you find a source for these clips, please post it here.

Give them a call. I had a Sere 2000 that the lock alloowed a little blade play. I called them they said to send it back. I returned it and they replaced it with a new knife. I called once to check before it was returned which was about a month later and they answered my questions promptly. If you need parts or repair I would suggest you give them a call instead of emailing them.

If Portland isn't too far from Tualatin, just drive over to Al Mar Knives and maybe they'll help you out with a replacement clip "on the spot".:).

Thanks for the replies. It sounds like I will be much better served by a phone call than by email. I'll let you all know if I find out a way to get a replacement clip for my SERE 2000. By the way, if any of you has any interest in a shoulder sheath, I've got one over on the trade forum and am open to just about any offers, might even trade for a clip if Al Mar is unable to provide me with a replacement.

OK, folks. The phone call did it. Replacement clips are available from Al Mar for $5, they will take your credit card information by phone. It's not as trouble free as my dealings with Kershaw have been, but it sure beats the email approach. Thought you deserved an update. I'm plenty pleased. Thanks for the help,

Brian
