I have this black on black Al Mar Warrior that I bought new and never used. My memory is a little fuzzy and I can't remember what year I bought it, but I may have gotten it between 89 and 90 because that is when I got my two early model SOG's and my Ek bowie. Mine has the typical faded mark that was apparently a problem on the black blades. It says Japan on the other side. It does not have a serial number on the blade, but it has a tiny sticker on the box that says 142/200. it has the ambidextrous ""high rise" black leather sheath (Taylor design? ) with the thumb break strap, not the belt loop model. Can anyone tell me when it was produced and how rare it is? I am looking to sell it.

There is a thread HERE, that says original production started in 1991. It also gives a little history but I couldn't speak on the rarity.

Thanks. I had seen that thread before but missed the date. 1991 makes sense as I was still buying a few factory knives at that point. This may have been the last factory knife that I bought in that period and I may have bought it mail order because I now remember being surprised at how large it was. I have seen ones like mine where the seller was asking as much as $700, but that is nothing like what I have seen people asking for the camo handled one. I saw one antique place asking like $1500 for a satin one with the serial number on the blade!!! That is a bit crazy, i think, but who knows?
