The knives look good, but I want to know how they'll hold up to moderat to heavy use.

Hi,

Which knives are you speaking of?

As a rule, at least from my experience, Al Mar knives are top notch, especially the ones made in recent years.

The SERE2k is liked by many of the forumites here as being a top notch knife with a good steel.

I've had several models and they've served me well. I currently have a SERE2k and an old ats34 ultralight lockback folder, both of which I plan on keeping.

Good luck,

Thomas Zinn

I've carried the Al Mar S2k for about 2yrs now and put it through some pretty rough stuff on and off duty. If you run a search I've gone into greater detail on several other occasions. I love the knife, specifically the fit and finish, the heft and the very easy to sharpen and utilitarian blade shape. Now the bad part! In the last 4 or 5 month the blade has developed quite a bit of play, and lock slippage. A month long trip to the factory failed to fix the problem so my S2K is getting retired. One day I may get another one, but for right now I'm fed up with liner locks in general. I wish it wasn't the case because otherwise it's a damn near perfect knife.
