ok so im in a delema i purchased a Letherman Al. I oppend the package and the main blade had wiggle needless to say i took it back. I asked the store when there next shipment was comming in the told me in around a week. all is good just a small wait. I intially looked at the wave but it has semi unconfertable grip and no extras except one small bit. compared to the al which has a corfrotable feel and a pocket clip with a various amount of screwdriver bits. so i choose the al but now i see the alx i am intreeged by its cutting hook for seatbelts hunting ect but i will have to scarafice the scizzors. which one should i get al or alx i like camping and i might be joining the military soon i hope thoose factors help i would also like to carry it as an edc thus why i am intreeged by the pocket clip.

I would personally go with an AL if you want to stick with that series of multitools. The reason I would choose the AL is, I do not need two bit drivers, I do not like the crimper in the middle of the needle-nose pliers and I don't need the cutting hook. However, I like the more comfortable handles of the Charge series over the Wave. If you are set on the cutting hook and the scissors, but don't care about the crimper I would spend the extra $20 and go with the TTi. I wouldn't let the amount of bits the tool come with sway your decision because if you find that down the road you need more bits you could always purchase the bit kit for about $14.

I would also splurge the extra money and get the TTi. The Al handles dent/scratch pretty easily and they are kinda slick. The titanium ones are textured, comfortable, and scratch/dent proof. Not to mention, you get the cutting hook (I use it daily for packages, letters, etc) and scissors.

Good point on the handles I didn't think about that.

Thank you:) Another point to add is that the Al scales make a thicker tool as well:)

I would either look for a Ti Charge on fleabay , or pony up for the TTI . The AL ALX turn me off . The other option is to stick with the Wave , in and of itself a superb tool .
