I recently received this knife from Al. Since then It's barely left my pocket! Pretty much the EDC knife I've been looking for!

UK legal, similar in proportions to GEC's #73. The covers are book matched Desert Ironwood, dovetailed into the bolsters. The blade is FFG S30-V.

As well as looking good Desert Ironwood is a superb choice for a working knife. Al knocks the heat treat back a little on the S30-V so that it is a little tougher. So far it's performed really well, coming back nicely on the strop.

I really wanted to start a thread of his work because there's not much out there and I think he deserves more recognition. Great guy to deal with too.

Please feel free to post your pic's of Al's knives if you have them.

Just a pure beauty, Sam! That desert ironwood is superb:D Looking forward to see more of his work too.

Sigh. The interweb thingy won't let me whistle. And I need to.

BEAUTIFUL knife. Congratulations on that one.

I've never been able to capture the beauty of ironwood in a photograph, but yours really shines through.

Welcome to the club! Here is a lockback wharncliffe that is a cousin to your blade. Let there be no doubt, Al produces some of the finest blades and action out there. There are actually two Al Warrens out there making knives... it is a small world. This is the work of Al Warren of http://www.warrenknives.com/

The flecks of orange running in veins through the ironwood glow in the rays of the sun.

Model: T3
ScaleS: Ironwood
Blade Length: 2 1/2"
Closed length: 3 1/8"

Sam,
I loved the looks of your knife since I first saw a picture of it.
It's incredibly neat and I love the ironwood covers. Doesn't surprise me to hear it barely leaves your pocket ;)

Beautiful knives guys, fantastic work :) Glad you're happy with it Sam

Just got this one before Christmas. Great lockback folder. Beautiful Desert Ironwood pattern and nicely matched slabs. Excellent lockup with NO blade movement laterally or vertically. Blade is nicely sharpened with symmetrical grinds and in the closed position nicely centered. The transitions from the wood to bolsters and liners and pin heads is smooth and undetectable by feel other than the metal is colder than the wood. The blade falls easily and effortlessly when pushing the lock bar down from the opened locked position. The blade is easily pinched open with about a 4-5 pull. Overall a beautiful knife with excellent craftsmanship and outstanding function. Wonderful blend of mechanical and functional art! Way to go Al thanks for a smooth transaction start to finish. Happy New Year
