Hello All,
What size fixed blade could be worn IWB according to this link, http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/al.txt . I was thinking a Spyderco Fred Perrin, would that be illegal? To me, the law seems kind of vague as to what is acceptable for a fixed blade. Can someone please help?

That is really vague. On the one hand it references a "butcher" knife of 11", but then it references fiting in your pocket. I'll have to do some more research.

shootist16,

I don't know if you have had the time or opportunity to look into this further, but I still would like your advice on a particular knife. How would a Spyderco Moran Drop Point fare under Alabama law? Do you think it would be considered legal or illegal?

I would not consider the Moran a bowie knife or like instrument. That doesn't mean an overzealous officer or prosecutor may think differently. I would think you should be okay though.
