Alabama get together

I should be in. Lots of National Forests. Will be curious to see the volume of response and locations. I think you will find a fair amount from North Carolina and north Georgia from what I have seen on this forum.

That being said, a central location maybe the Chattahoochee, Nantahala, or Pisgah National Forest.

If the Chattahoochee is chosen I can provide a couple of recommendations of where to congregate.

Lets do it before the leaves fall.

Good idea.

Chances are we would only get a handful, so we could group camp or congregate at one location. If we get more than a dozen to attend, then we should look into the logistics after finding a location.

I suggest we restart this thread with a southeast title. Some may not view if they think it is just for Alabama.

What sort of things do yall want to do? Might determine where to go, I am pretty familiar with Nantahala, I grew up 15 minutes away. Chris

Jozilla, on Knifeforums is trying to get people together for a southeastern Nessmuk trip. their is a sticky about it on the hiking & camping forum of Knifefurums! I think the general area for now is where Ga.,Tenn. & North Carolina come together. I live in Dallas,Ga. so I am about 30 minutes from Alabama, close to I-20.

I'd give attending a shot. Especially if you choose GA! Good people here. Worth meeting.

Tim the slugman,
I went to elementary school in Paulding Co, lived in Hiram, moved to Western NC when I was 13, small world. Chris

Small world, indeed. I was born in Fayetteville, NC and live in Smyrna now.

I would be interested in the trip, depending on when it is. There are lots of neat forest areas in the southeast, so I am sure we could come up with something.
