Title says it all, I'm headed to Alabama soon, more specifically the orange beach area, and I was wondering what the knife laws were like down there

I can't really say for the local laws where you are going ,but as i understand the state laws are basicly any folder is ok as long as it fits in your pocket. For fixed blades there is a archaic law that prohibits the conceal carry of "bowie knifes" but it dosent give a description of what a bowie knife is. Hope this helps.

Not legal advice

My girlfriend and I own property in Fairhope, Alabama and I did research the knife laws. A pocket knife down there is basically anything that can be concealed in a pocket, similar to Florida's law. Therefore, a 4" lockblade folder is perfectly legal to carry concealed. The carrying of Bowie knives, butcher's knives, etc. concealed is prohibited. Seems like Bama has some good common sense laws that we can live with. By the way, I am happy to know that you hold a ham ticket. I do also. On the air, I am KB1WWM. '73s to you! Tom
