Well I have found out about my knife, it was made in 1976 and etched by Aurum Etching a run of 250 knives mine is number 11. They made a set of 4 different knives for the State of Texas Republic. I have found a picture of President Ronald Reagan receiving one from Samuel R. Shortes President & Founder of Aurum Etching in the Oval office at White House in 1976. Consequently after his death the knife is now on display at his President Library in CA. There is another Alamo Bowie on display at the Alamo Museum In San Antonio, Texas. Michael Wayne oldest son of John Wayne bought two Alamo Bowies one for himself and one for his father bought. The ones of you that said it made be China made knife and worthless I do not agree with you you need to do you home work.:barf:

Homework? Ronald Reagan wasn't in the White House in 1976. Democrat Jimmy Carter was President.

Ronald Reagan was President from 1981-1989.

Don't let the clowning around discourage you. There's some good information coming out of this. I just sent you an email about my consolidating some of these threads. It's easier to follow when all the information is together.

I also included instructions on an easy way to post pictures.

Tostig, he had 5 threads. I closed one with just the one post, and consolidated the 4 others into 2, going by the titles.
 
This one right? I Googled it by typing "Aurum bowie", not very difficult.

It was manufactured & sold by Aurum Etchings in Texas Monthly magazine (Oct. 1976). Don't know what it's worth today, but Aurum went out of business and left Texas and the EPA with a major HazMat site to clean-up.
