Knifemakers rule !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan Folts and Tommy (otha) had made a very generous offer to come down to there place to pick up some casting stuff.

They live about three hours from my house. I'm tooling on down the road and get about 45 miles from their place , when my truck starts having a vibration in the front end. I stop and dont see anything abnormal so I keep on going. To make a long story short, when I pull into their driveway. I have ONE FRIGGIN LUG NUT on my left front tire  andf its about to shear off .

Alan and Tommy drove me around to three differant auto places to get the parts needed to fix my truck. These two fine gentlemen didn't let me lift a finger while they replaced all the studs on my wheel and fixed me up good enough to get me home.

I cant thank you enough,

Mark

Yes,sir, gentlemen in the higest degree! It is evident you are considered just as worthy too,Mark. Knife makers are in a whole different catagory of folks, for sure.

yes but all the nice knifemakers make soo much harder for me to just give up on humanity and hate everyone. Stupid nice people. :p

Good on em! Glad to hear a story like that these days. About a week and a half ago we were coming home from a horseshow and lost the tread on the outside dual of the truck, took the whole fender off and running board before it blew past the truck like a damn cannonball trailing steel belts. I won't go into it all, posted the story in general.
Anyway to get to the point, wouldn't you know that as we were limping down the highway with the hazard lights on trying to get somewhere safe to change the tire... people were blowing by and flipping us off and giving every other nasty gesture possible!
People are great.

Glad to hear there's still some good ones around. You can just about count on it when your dealing with knifemakers though :)

Mark, I can tell you from repeated first hand experiences with both Alan and Tommy that they are just that: the best of what the knifemaking community is all about.

BTW, Alan got me started in knifemaking and keeps it fresh, and Tommy keeps me thinking. Thanks Guys!!!!

Both of them get my vote as Great guys. They are both so good, I only give them knifemaking classes once a year :)

<blushing>

Thanks for all the kind words guys..!!

Nothing we wouldnt do for anybody Mark!!! Except for the casting equipment and the supplies...:) Believe me you are doing me a favor just getting that stuff out of my shop.:) now more room for more tools!!!

Did the truck drive okay on the way home??? You gotta spend a lot to get it fixed up???

Alan..

I'm still driving it the way it left your house. I had to tighten up the lugs a couple of times on the way home to seat the studs. I've found spare rims in the trading post. I'm going to get the whole shooting match replaced here soon.
Thanks again guys,

Was the easiest repair we done. if it was my car it would have taken weeks to fix and only then would we find out what was truly wrong. LOL Come get some more junk....I mean stuff. we found the floor in the shop. Whooo Hooo! Thanx for the kind words. Andrew the key word is rockets...must have rockets...

Tommy
