Hope I don't get dinged for posting these up. Not sure if they qualify as traditional but in my mind they come pretty close - they have stag and 100 year old blades anyway :). The "rustic" look is what drew me to Alan's knives and I bought a lefty misery whip folder back in the Spring. I was so impressed with the knife I asked him to make me one just like it only in a right hand config and about 1 inch longer blade. I don't have the knife yet but Alan sent me these pics last Saturday. Just from seeing his other knives lately and the progression of his skills I'm sure this will be out of the park fantastic. The clip is removable BTW, he counter sunk the holes and it has a new bearing system in the liners for super smooth operation (or so he says :D). If all knife makers conducted business like Alan does the cutlery world would be a better place for sure.

Here is the lefty getting a little patina -

Hmmm... that's not what the moderators think.

I'm guessing it was moved to General because this knife isn't a traditional pattern. It's a great knife but the age of the materials (old) doesn't make it a traditional.

That's great looking. I like that it kind of blends traditional and modern, neo tribal even! Very cool.

I know I was pushing the traditional thing just a bit but I was contributing to an already existing thread about Alan's knives - specifically his misery whip blades. Buck 110's with a one armed bandit seem okay there as do other liner locks (Case Russlock is a one hand opening linerlock). Just cheesed me off a little having it moved. I know you Mods do a great job and I'll just shut up for now and enjoy the knives...

Those are awesome. If you are getting one with his bearing system you will not find anything SMOOTHER! CONGRADS! Kevin :thumbup::thumbup::D

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I'm really stoked to get my hands on this bad boy. I actually sent Alan a pic of the lefty with a Spyderco Military for size reference of what I wanted. I'll have to post pics for a final comparison when I get it. :D:thumbup:

I've been eyeballing his knives for a while, he makes some really nice ones, they seem very well made too
congrats, I'm sure you'll like it

what's the steel in this one?

Very Nice lookin' folder. I'll bet this 1 won't be your only knife from Alan. His knives are Great.

He made a custom folder for me with a flipper. I don't have anything in a flipper I like better. If you tell him what you want in a knife he can make it. His quality is Excellent.

I have a fb by Alan too.
