I am now the proud owner of a unique Alan Wood hand made knife. 4" drop point hunter, mirror polished hollow ground with full tapered tang, finger grooved handle, 416 stainless bolsters, fileworked thumb grip and "antique" ivory micarta scales. The main feature is the use of RWL 34 steel HRc 63. Does anyone else own or know more about Alan Wood knives or RWL 34 steel?

Hi Bertie .
I don´t know so much about Alan Wood more than that my wife , Viveca , have done some scrimshaw on four knives made by him . The detailwork on the knives are of high quality .
RWL-34 is one of the steels used in the Damasteel stainless damascus steel . The content is almost like ATS-34 , but I think you can read more about on Damasteels own site at http://www.damasteel.se .
