In Alaska, does anyone know, for sure, what the law says can be carried?

Size and method of opening are of primary concern. I'm traveling there in a couple weeks, and I want to know what I can carry.

Thanks

i'm not totally certain. i used to live there and alot of my family still does. i know that Alaska has odd laws in the sense that you can conceal or OC a handgun w/o any type of permit, yet switchblades and bali's are illegal to carry (iirc)

i, recently, asked my cousin (who carries a handgun and a Kershaw folder) what type of reaction he thought i'd get from the people in the stores if i had a large FB on my belt. he laughed and said he doubts anybody would notice.

i miss Alaska :(

Thanks Zignal_Zero. I'll say hi for you when I'm up there. Only going for a visit his time.

i've actually been thinking of a (semi) permanent return, but then i remember what winter is like up there and back burner the idea lol.

get this (if you don't already know) - i know it's more gun than knife related, but still serves as an indicator of how AK law views armed civilians. while they do not require any permit to carry a concealed handgun, they will issue you one if you want it. this is to help you if you travel to other states that recognize AK's permit.

you can google their state laws, but if i understand it correctly - Autos and Bali's are a no no, but spring assisted folders or other OHO's are fine as well as openly carried bowies.
