Alaskaganza SAR8 - most expensive knife I own

This is what I wanted and got from the Alaskaganza. Not spent this much on a knife before, but really couldn't resist. Armoralleather did a great job on the sheath - normally I go for kydex, but a knife like this needed some beautiful leather. Many thanks to Busse and Armoralleather for expediting this to reach me in time.

Only problem is that this might start a trend in buying more expensive knives. I promised myself I would sell off my SAR6 to part fund this, but I'm already wavering. The SAR8 has made me appreciate the SAR6 even more - they're quite different knives, the custom SAR8 being considerably thicker ground.

First two photos (the good ones) are from Armoralleather - hope Leatherman doesn't mind me using them!

EDIT - After a little bit of d**king around, I finally worked out how to make the pictures show up in the thread - please ignore my subsequent post.

See below for latest pictures.

Oops. Thought I understood how to post pictures here. Thread is not much good without them!

Those images you're trying to post are Web page URLs. You need to use the URL of the images themselves.
Anyway, that aside, that is a really pretty knife. Congrats on the score. And quite a fitting sheath, too.

I put a bit of thought into what would go well with the handle, but Leatherman must take the real credit for the execution. It really is a thing of beauty, and very well fitting - blade seems strangely larger than the sheath.

Jeff really does do good work

And that is a SWEET knife

Man, that is an incredibly nice looking knife. Honestly, what is there not to love about that piece? Congrats on a super score!

OMG!!! That is a beautiful knife and sheath! I have the SAR6 version. Love the handles on these things.

I wanted a smaller blade to pair with the SAR8, so I asked Phillip Dobson to handle a M390 Mule in G10 and ironwood as well. Here are the results. I think this combination should be able handle most things!

Those are mosaic pins on the Mule, although its hard to see in these photos.

oh yeah, love me some spyderco action. Ya got yourself one VERY functional package. Add a swiss army knife, 6 pack, 6lbs of bacon and call it a day.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on my work, I appreciate it. :D That knife is incredible, it was very difficult to pack that one up and ship it to the owner.
